Team A5 Support works with single homeless people with support needs that are either linked with services or are now ready to be linked and make proactive attempts at changing their circumstances.

Due to Local Housing allowance restrictions, people under 35 will usually be offered a room in a shared house.

Excluded licenses in most cases depending on circumstances an AST may be issued for properties where excluded occupation is possible.

If you wish to refer someone, you will be asked to confirm their suitability for our service and that they understand what we can offer.

You must complete a referral form.
You must provide the relevant supporting evidence.
You must confirm that the applicant has an actual or potential need for support

You can make a referral via email using the  referral form.

You can contact a member of the referral team at referrals@teama5support.org or you can download a copy from our website.

Once a referral has been submitted within 24 to 48 hours a member of the team will review the form to see if the criteria have been met and or the form completed fully.
They will provide you with feedback or request additional information where necessary.
Once complete the individual will be offered a face to face assessment at one of our offices, usually 797 London Road CR7 6AW.

At the assessment, The client will need to provide original ID and proof of benefits.

If possibly looking to be housed the same day subject to availability they should be prepared to submit 2 months bank statement to the council.

If they are interested in what we can offer and we believe that they have an actual or potential need for support, we will contact them when a suitable property becomes available for a viewing.
Or arrange a viewing if there is one available at the time.

If they accept the offer, they will then be assisted with paperwork and move in.

Individuals are required to move in within 4 days of signing a tenancy and or receiving their keys.

If the assessment indicates that they are unlikely to engage or do not require support, or if they decline the offer made by Team A5 Support, this will be noted and communicated back to the referrer.

If they decline a reasonable offer of accommodation or fail to attend a viewing without notifying us, they will not normally be made further offers.

Our offers are made on a first come first serve basis.

It is difficult to predict as this is dependent on client departures and new property procurement.

We procure properties in response to demand. Therefore you could wait a few days to a few weeks and in some cases a few months.

I recently just came out of prison and I was homeless. Even though I got referred to a few housings before I left, Team A5 Support have been the only people to help me with a roof over my head. They housed me as soon as they found out my situation and I was given a place by them which is really good for me as I am trying to turn my life around. It was made clear to me about the support that would be provided, and they treat me with courtesy and respect. Whenever I needed support and asked for it, I received the support I needed it. The support services provided by Team A5 Support has had a positive experience on my life because I am able to have a place to rest my head and focus on myself and not get caught up with my past. I am grateful for Team A5 Support because I feel if I never got a place when I did, I could have easily gone back to the life of crime
